[There's a blink as Floyd pulls back. It's rare for him to see this side of Floyd— usually when he's said something that's upset him.

What's he supposed to say in these situations? It's more likely he'd pick on someone for crying or cowering, maybe poke and prod to find information he has no business knowing, but that's when he doesn't care about making the situation worse. Floyd supposes he can simply ask the easiest thing.]

[After giving him a return squeeze, Riddle nods, then pulls back just a bit so he can plant some kisses on Floyd's neck and up to his face.

He murmurs into his ear:]

More than okay. Thank you, Floyd.

Now... [He trails the kisses to edge of Floyd's mouth, and gives a seductive smile.] Let's play, shall we?

[Floyd's not sure if Riddle's just saying that because he feels bad or if he's genuinely ok... though he supposes it's not like Riddle to lie. And Floyd knows lying. He has to deal with liars all the time.

So he sighs and mutters,]

[against Riddle's lips before starting up another round of deep, steady kisses. This time, he doesn't grind, deciding instead to let Riddle tell him one way or another if that's what he even wants. Giving him a little bit of control isn't so bad.]

[Riddle squeezes him in response to that question, giving a hum before he kisses Floyd. The jagged teeth are no longer as intimidating as they used to be; Riddle finds that he even enjoys the sensations that they add to the kiss now.

[It's not so much a curse at Riddle as it is at himself. Floyd's just pissed off that he keeps fucking up. Grumbling and whining to himself, he settles Riddle back down on his feet before scrubbing at his hair, making it stand up a bit on end. What's he doing wrong here? Riddle sounded like he wanted to do it just a second ago.

This whole "consent changes moment to moment" thing is harder than he thought.]

[Another frustrated hiss as he plants his hands on his hips.]

[Riddle takes a few moments to take some breaths, heart pounding in his chest. He isn't completely sure where the frustration is directed at first... but then it quickly becomes clear.

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, his hands come up to firmly frame Floyd's face.]

If I don't get to apologize for my anxiety, then you don't get to beat yourself up for setting it off.

I already told you, I don't need you to be perfect.

[Floyd tries to puff his cheeks as Riddle holds onto them, and even with the words of reassurance he still doesn’t feel particularly good. True, Floyd can drop anything and anyone without a moment’s notice, but… this is different. [In the end, with Riddle wrapped around him and burrowed in his chest, Floyd heaves a sigh and lazily drapes himself over the smaller boy’s shoulders. His fingers weave into his hair and play with the tangled strands, his eyes focused on the wall they were only just pressed to.]

[he starts, shifting a bit so his larger frame blocks the downpour from overwhelming Riddle’s body.]

[He's quiet at that first part, though he might subtly tense at that statement.

But the next couple... really hit home for him.

After a few moments, he manages:]

Is it alright if we just... clean off, for now?

[Well, it’s not how he wanted the shower to go, but if it’s too much, then it’s too much, and Floyd knows that better than most. They have other places to be anyway. There’s other fun stuff they can do.]

Mm, you go ‘head and finish up. I should probably go out and calm down.

Riddle doesn't want him to go, but... he doesn't want Floyd feeling like he's being teased, either. So he nods, holding on a couple moments longer... before he finally, reluctantly pulls back.]

It’s no biggie. … I’m not gonna go far, ok?

[Floyd doesn’t want to leave either, truth be told, especially after Riddle only just told him to stay, but if he doesn’t, he’ll want to start up again and probably ruin more than just their date.

So after his own squeeze, he slips his arms away, takes a second to fix Riddle’s hair as best he can (it’s not very good, but, hey, he tried), then leaves the shower so he can head out toward his bedroom. No towel, no clothes. He’ll just drip dry and hope that shuffling through his wardrobe will prove a decent enough distraction.]

[Riddle gives a nod, watching him go. Guilt still lingers in the back of his mind, as well as frustration... Damnit. Is he really too impatient with himself? Is it so bad to want to be... normal?

Ultimately, his frustration leads him to ignoring his arousal in favor of washing. He ends it off with a cold spray before taking a towel to dry himself off. With the towel resting on his head, he walks into the bedroom to put on his clothes and see how Floyd's fairing.]

By the time Riddle returns, Floyd’s dressed simply in a baggy shirt, an oversized windbreaker, and a pair of basketball shorts, because if he’s going to hop into the ocean soon, there’s no sense in wearing stuff that will be hard to take off again.

He’s smoothing out the creases on Jade’s side of the bed and propping up what looks to be a small plush of a real moray eel, it’s face contorted into a goofy, toothy smile.]

Jade, quit falling over! You’ll get dusty if you roll under the bed again.

[Seems like Floyd’s resorted to talking to a plush toy to cope. Whatever works, right?]

I’m gonna head out with Goldfishie, so don’t mess up the sheets in case he gets sleepy later, got it?

Riddle gives a tiny, sad smile at that, silent as he puts on his clothes. At the last part, he comes over, lightly brushing his hand along Floyd's back.]

[Satisfied with his tidying, Floyd doesn't jump when he's touched, but he does pause to consider the implications of "something else."
