Name: Riddle Rosehearts Door: Door Pass Canon: Twisted Wonderland Canon Point: End of Book 2 (Canonically around the month of September) Age: 17 Appearance: Here History: Here Personality: Positive Trait: Disciplined Riddle's greatest strength is also his greatest weakness. Having been brought up by an extraordinarily strict mother, he has grown to put great emphasis on matters of responsibility, such as punctuality, work ethnic and a strict adherence to rules and regulations. In turn, his grades are nothing short of flawless, and indeed by upholding such standards as a housewarden, he has helped ensure that no Heartslabyul student be held back a year. No matter what task given of him, he is sure to complete it in a timely, professional manner in its entirety. Such is the passion of his diligence that he has memorized all 720 laws of the Queen of Hearts— including the number of each. Negative Trait: Authoritarian However, he has been known to push this value too far. He often does not question the necessities of rules and merely assumes they are there for a reason. This leads him to enforcing more obscure rules with the same severity as the rest, causing him to appear as a tyrant to the students who clearly see that such rules seem frivolous at best. He puts such a high value on abiding by regulations that even when presented with one of his favorite pastries as a show of apology, he becomes enraged since it is a violation of one of the more obscure, frivolous laws: never bring a chestnut tart to an unbirthday party. When confronted on this topic, he absolutely refuses to acknowledge how unreasonable such rules are, and becomes even more livid. Negative Trait: Short-Tempered Riddle is easily irritable, and has no patience for troublemakers. He is quick to admonish for misbehaviors, and becomes increasingly irritable with each added offense. His height is also a sore spot that can very quickly have him escalating to yelling, and even violence. (Floyd had discovered this early on, and as he relishes in seeing Riddle so wild and furious, there are many scenes between them where he pokes fun at his height.) So uncontrollable can his rage become that his entire face down to his neck turns red, often causing him to scream at the top of his lungs. At that point, it's usually only the persuasion of a close friend that can bring him back down. Negative Trait: Uptight Riddle's adherence to rules and conduct make him generally unfavorable towards unstructured forms of recreation. This includes such things as taking time to play in favor of studying, or even simply participating in behavior that doesn't seem particularly orderly or mature, such as playing video games or reading manga/watching anime. It was canonically stated that by Ortho's age (likely before Riddle hit double-digits) that he was reading medical textbooks, a sharp contrast to most children who would read comic books or novels for entertainment. Powers and Abilities: Elemental Magic All students of Night Raven College have an affinity for one or more of the elemental magics of their world: fire, water, nature and void. Riddle has his strongest affinity with fire magic, and has exceptional ability and power in using it. Having been trained from a young age, he even overpowers some of his upperclassmen. Described in rpg class terms by a fellow colleague, Riddle is a DPS Unit or glass cannon: someone who can hit both hard and fast, but doesn't have the stamina to hold up to too much damage themselves. Signature Spell A powerful spell that is unique to Riddle. By shouting the words "off with your head!", Riddle causes a heart-shaped collar to appear around his target's neck. This completely seals off the magic of the target until Riddle chooses to remove the spell. While nearly impossible to break through for less powerful magic users, it can be prevented with protective spells, or broken by a sufficiently strong user. Misc Magic Flying (via broom), Alchemy (with appropriate tools/ingredients), Buffing Allies, Debuffing Enemies, Animal Linguistics Overblot Overblot is the result of the accumulation of too much blot, which is a waste product of magic use. The gem on his pen can store some of this waste and it will lessen with time and with proper rest. However, if magic is used recklessly, especially in the case where there are also extreme amounts of negative emotions being felt, the red gem can turn completely black, resulting in a monstrous transformation. In this form, Riddle's powers are amplified, and the destructive aura around him is so great that it can rend the environment. At this point, it is impossible to reason with him, and he will stop at nothing to destroy everyone around him. The only way to stop him and return him to normal is to knock him unconscious. His Overblot form will be nerfed for Duplicity such that no monster appears, and the destructive effects on the environment will not happen. His powers will be boosted, but only by a modest degree, rather than the double-triple amplification it would normally have. Knowledge: Due to his studious nature, Riddle is well-versed in many academic subjects, such as Magic History, Alchemy and more traditional subjects like math and language. Equestrian: Riddle is the leader of the Equestrian club, and his skills reflect it. He has excellent posture while riding, and is very in-tuned with his mount. Animal Care: Riddle has a lot of respect for and a general inclination towards animals. It can be assumed his favorite animals are hedgehogs, as "Hedgehog Tending" is noted as his favorite hobby. Aside from just hedgehogs, there are other animals in his dorm (such as flamingos) that he ensures are cared for, and in the Equestrian Club he helps care for the horses.
